Summer 2004 Litter

We bred our female, Ch. Akutan's Only One Shaktoolik to Ch. Adair"N'Hug's Wonderful Life.  
The puppies were born on June 4th.  We had 5 males and 2 females.

Puppies, just after being born...

 

These next pictures were taken at around 1 week old.  You'll notice some strange looking puppies joining the crowd.
We learned that a Borzoi female tragically died during a C-Section procedure.  There were 3 Borzoi puppies that
needed a "mom".  Toolik immediately adopted the 3 puppies.  We'll be fostering them for the next couple of weeks.

Both the Malamutes and Borzois eyes are now open.  They are all walking around.  We are getting ready to start the mals on solid foods and moving them outside.  The Borzois are pleading to go home since the mals have sharp teeth!  Actually, we are sad to say goodbye to our foster children.  They have been here for 2 weeks and are doing great!  They are now being bottle fed and will do well at their own home.  The Borzois and Maggie plan to come back to visit.  Toolik hasn't been told yet...

The Mals are 3 weeks and Borzois are 2 weeks old...

The puppies are now 4 weeks old.  They love being outside and are eating dry kibble as well as nursing.  
We have heard from Maggie that the Borzois are doing well.

The puppies are now 5 weeks old.  They are growing like weeds!  Our theme for this
litter is weather names.  The names are pretty appropriate given their level of activity.

At 6 weeks old, they've ventured out of the run to the great outdoors and loved it!

They are now 7 weeks old and going to their new homes next weekend.

Going to their new homes at 8 weeks old...Thanks everyone for providing great homes!
